This extraordinary home is carefully sited on an extremely beautiful and fragile lot in Montreat, North Carolina.  Care was taken to protect the existing mature trees, mountain laurel and rhododendron.

The design was carefully developed to meet the owner's program requirements and to respectfully rest in its setting without overwhelming the site or its neighbors.  Materials were chosen to blend in rather than stand out.

We were paid the ultimate compliment on this building when a colleague asked how the "remodel" in Montreat was going; of course he didn't realize the entire building was brand new!
