This project envisioned creating a home for the incredibly influential Black Mountain College Arts School. This important school essentially represents an entire era of American Modernism. Artist and instructors included Joseph Albers, William DeKooning, Cy Twombly, Merce Cunningham, Buckminster Fuller and many others. The building is intended to be a fitting container for this modern movement while also respecting its historic downtown Black Mountain setting.
